Preparing for the future redevelopment of Marley Works

Marley is a name synonymous with entrepreneurship and economic growth in Lenham, and we at Panattoni want it to stay that way.

We are preparing our vision for the future for the site and we will present our plans to the local community in person at a public exhibition.

Preparing for the future redevelopment of the Marley Works site

Marley is a name synonymous with entrepreneurship and economic growth in Lenham, and we at Panattoni want it to stay that way. Following Panattoni's purchase of the Aliaxis factory site – better known locally as the Marley Works – on the A20, we want to introduce ourselves and give the local community a virtual look behind the gates.

Following Panattoni's purchase of the Aliaxis factory site – better known locally as the Marley Works – on the A20, we want to introduce ourselves and take the local community behind the gates to discover what is there now, and what we believe could be there in the future.

This website is a key part of our engagement with the residents of Lenham and Harrietsham as we prepare our proposals for the 70-acre brownfield site. We can confirm the site will be retained for employment, rather than new homes.

We are currently focusing on:

Proposals for the demolition, remediation and comprehensive redevelopment for the site’s sustainable future

Assessing the benefits of the redevelopment for the local community, economy and environment

Finalising the timeline for a planning application to be submitted to Maidstone Borough Council

Preparing for comprehensive in-person and online engagement with the local community to get feedback on the project

Welcome

This website is an opportunity to have a look behind the fence at the former Aliaxis site.

It’s being launched ahead of our engagement with the residents of Lenham and Harrietsham as we are in the process of preparing our proposals for the 70-acre brownfield site. We can confirm the site will be retained for employment, rather than the provision of new homes. We will add further information over the following weeks and months.

We are preparing our vision for the future for the site and we will present our plans to the local community online and in person at a public exhibition. It will be an opportunity for you to ask questions of the team of experts that is undertaking detailed studies on the former Aliaxis site.

Today, you can discover:

  • About us | Who are Panattoni?

  • The site | Where is it and what’s there?

  • History | How has the site developed over the last few decades?

What happens next? The team is currently working on the following:

  • Proposals for the demolition, remediation and comprehensive redevelopment for the site’s sustainable future

  • Assessing the benefits of the redevelopment for the local community, economy and environment

  • Finalising the timeline for a planning application to be submitted to Maidstone Borough Council

  • Preparing for comprehensive in-person and online engagement with the local community to get feedback on the project
